It was made as a part of my June 2012 solo show, Adrift, at LeBasse Projects in Los Angeles. The show took an a nautical theme, which was a first for me. Inspired by the traditional existential metaphor of being lost at sea, each painting in the show played with the ideas of being lost and alone. For me this piece is unique because it is a fun mix of at least three different paintings styles." - Joshua Petker.
