I would like to announce the release of two new letterpress prints (Zera 1, Zera 2) that I'm really excited about. The artwork for these prints is based off of a Zerape that belonged to my parents which I still have. Zerapes are Mexican blankets that are generally multicolored and woven with threads. In the original art I used the colors of my parents Zerape but I felt the need to remove all color and keep it simple. Why a Zerape? The zerape to me is a metaphor for protection, warmth and embrace and every time I think about this moment we are all sharing I can't think of a more opposite feeling to have than the one I'm feeling at this moment. For those of you who have been collecting my prints you might know that I usually do editions of 100. Well this time I decided to split the edition in half using two different colors of paper (black and white) and I believe it worked out for a reason.
