Cleaved Crow is a Gelatin Silver Print by artist Eileen Quinlan, produced on occasion of the 2018 NY Art Book Fair. As with much of Quinlan's work, Cleaved Crow utilizes a photo sourced online. The original image, here of a black crow seen in profile, is printed and rephotographed, then manually manipulated through analog processes. The animals in the artist's work explore ideas around non-human intelligence in relation to the mass emergence of artificial intelligence.
