Edition of 25. Hand sewn tapestry. Size: 40 x 40cm. MoD fabrics on white cotton handkerchief. Signed and numbered verso. In commemoration of the Centenary of the end of 'The Great War' on WWI Armistice Day 2018, each letter has been cut from authentic British military uniform fabric. The text walks us through chronologically the history of MoD textiles from the start of 'the war to end all wars' to the current day issue, and their production and supply in regards to the Military Industrial Complex. The letters are hand sewn onto a simple white cotton handkerchief synonymous with soldiers as a sign of truce or surrender, War Is Over.
