To accompany the artists' new exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery, The Trickle-Down Syndrome, Benedict Drew has created a new vitreous enamel edition. The edition, entitled The Slopp Vision Club (Memorial Plaque), re-imagines themes from his Whitechapel Gallery installation and his Art Night 2017 performance as a memorial plaque. Poignantly comic, this enamel artwork in portrait format depicts dense patterns resembling capillaries of the brain, or wormholes to another universe. A pair of eyes, another recurring motif also appear here, staring penetratingly out at us, or perhaps also offering a window to the soul.
