Mentioned as a stand out at NADA New York last week by The New York Times, Patrick Berran's solo presentation in Chapter NY's booth presented twenty paintings developed through a unique accumulative process. Working from informal studies made in sketchbooks, Berran translates his own mark making through photocopy and silkscreen transfer techniques onto a gessoed panel, resulting in complex layering of data and color. This Exhibition A print is based on a painting which Berran made in a studio that Cy Twombly used to work in near his home in Virginia.
