Following the wide eyed intensity of Gaia’s sell out white and black ‘Rabbit’ editions, this linocut embodies the instinctive and potentially unpredictable nature of the brooding ‘Black Swan.’ Each beautifully hand carved striation captures the languorous lean and shimmering plumage of this magnificent bird in a medium too often considered simplistic and crude. ‘Black Swan’ is printed on fine rag stock and showcases Gaia’s characteristic use of multiple lino blocks, highlighted via the accentuated dividing line running through the centre of each artwork, making every piece individual.
