Description

Disappear. The ash tree is at risk from 'ash die-back' (chalara fraxinea), a disease that causes leaf loss and crown die-back and usually leads to the death of the tree. Some scientists are worried that, in addition, the ash may be at risk from a beetle called the emerald ash borer (agrilus planipennis). This print, from a series of images created during artwork sessions for Radiohead's King of Limbs, alludes to both the tree itself - Yggdrasil, the Norse tree of knowledge - and the fact that Britain will lose an estimated 60% to 90% of its ash trees to the disease. There is a small hope that some strains of the species may prove resistant to the blight. Paper size 580mm x 310mm, 5 colour screenprint on 270gsm stock. Edition of 40; signed, stamped and numbered. £150.
