"I created this piece for a show in Toronto called "The Super Super Show" in 2013. I chose to spoof on the classic Captain America image in order to reflect my feelings about the fast food culture in North America. I grew up on comics and cartoons and like most many kids these were some of my first influences; these iconic characters with values of steel so to speak. As I grew up I saw more and more the cross promotional tendencies of fast food industry with big Hollywood. This mock ad represents to me an ad that might exist in some future if we keep following along this same path of consumerism. Fast food by design is created to taste good but is terrible for you. One must admit that you really have to say in your head "fuck it, eat it" to in fact eat it.". ~ DENIAL.
