Street artist Xenz paints visionary scenes of the natural world upon the urban environment. Avian. portraits are a staple of his work. The doctor bird is a species of hummingbird unique to Jamaica. Doctor birds are noted for their lustrous iridescent feathers (hand-painted on the gold leaf edition by Xenz using interference paints), and the males for their two long tails which stream behind them in flight. Jamaican folklore believes doctor birds are the reincarnated souls of the island's most celebrated. Doctor Bird is available as a hand-painted monotype print on gold leaf or as a hand-coloured etching.
