"The original work came from a series of sketches trying to figure out the tone for Theatre Bizarre last October. There’s a lot of little elements throughout and I get tighter and tighter as I go. The original piece was pen and ink with different pieces of different little sketches, so to me this screenprint feels like more of an original piece of art than the original. Because of getting caught last year there was a big shift in content and context coming from the carnival into this secret society. I wanted to take the iconography that I’d already been using with the carnival but dovetail it more into this world.".
