Read Between The Lines Info: Above is back at it again with his creative wit and conceptual ideas. We are seriously impressed by how much Above is able to juggle and produce. With less than 2-weeks until his jam packed gallery show in San Francisco he gave us this new print to upload and release. When we asked Above about his “read between the lines” edition he had several different replies that all seemed to make us laugh, go a little cross-eyed, and question if his concept and perspectives of looking at things is either pure genius or cracked out retardedness? I suppose the selling results of this print will put that question to the test?! What is impressive was the surprise element that we didn’t know about when we looked at the print until Above turned off the lights and we saw a new glowing image under all those black lines. Above has been designing and mixing chemicals to get what he calls “night ooze” that is a very hyper reactive glow in the dark mixture that he hand finished on each print. Quoting Above “When I was in high school I went to a lot of warehouse raves and once I was rolling on Ecstasy when some other ravers were breaking open glow sticks and dripping the glowing ink all over the floor. The glowing effect and concept of only being able to see something in the dark made me think it was a great medium to work with? But then again I was super high on drugs so what the hell did I know?! I literally spelled it out in the prints title’s so take a moment to read between the lines, think, and then turn off the lights and enjoy again”.
