Emin has spoken of her love of printmaking and what she calls “the magic and alchemy” of it all. Her passion for the form comes from its unpredictability and intimacy – you never really know how the final work will look until you turn the paper over. Although Emin’s prints vary in subject matter, they all retain the quality of her lines and as in other areas of her practice, often draw on her own life experiences. To create this work, Emin spent time in the printmaking studios of the RA Schools alongside our students. This is one of three special prints created for RA Editions.
