For his latest collaboration with Case Studyo, Swedish artist Joakim Ojanen presents a deeply personal piece, taking a sculptural trip down memory lane to recount his childhood days that shaped him into the person he is today. "Time Traveller is a family portrait of mine. The sitting boy is me. Both my father and grandfather were watchmakers, the clock is representation of them. My mother used to sew and knit clothes for me and the Batman shirt was a piece of a whole costume she made for me. My grandmother, who lived really close to us and has always been a really important person to me, used to make the most delicious small pancakes in this special small pancake pan. My oldest brother coached my handball team when I was young and my other brother, who also is an artist and always pushed me to be creative, are represented by the ball and the brush. The three small smiley pancakes in the back are my brother's children". Time Traveller measures in at an impressive 55cm tall. The highly detailed bronze sculpture is adorned with a distinctive two-toned patina that highlights every feature in the composition, making it an awesome sight to behold.
