Description

The Last Winter by Dulk. Fine-art Giclée print on French cold-press watercolor paper. 14 x 24 Inches. Hand-deckled edges. Signed & numbered. Printed with ? by Paragon Press. "The accelerated melting of the Arctic, caused by human impact and global warming, threatens the survival of polar bears and iconic marine life like beluga whales. Polar bears need ice to walk, hunt and feed their young. If there is no ice there is no rest, no food, and extinction crawls closer. The melting of sea ice forces them to swim for hundreds of miles, which poses a great risk to the cubs. This artwork is a representation of a mural I painted in Churchill, Manitoba (Canada) for PangeaSeed Foundation's Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans program. Churchill is considered the polar bear capital of the world and the mural represents the forced journey of a family of bears and belugas in their last winter on earth. The cub grabs its treasured iceberg treasure, which helps the family to escape from the destructive impact humans are having on the Earth.". - Dulk -.
