"In The Shadow Of Orion was originally showcased at my Inner State Gallery exhibition titled Hidden Persuasion last year. Like all interesting stories there is intrigue with hidden agendas, and with that aesthetic in mind I approached each painting with an open ended and melodramatic narration. This piece in particular generated some dramatic narratives where the viewer is invited to seek their own scenario. The image was ripped from a 70’s British television show and I went ahead and added many accouterments. I think what gives the image it’s appeal is the monochromatic palette I used as opposed to the brightly lit and loud colors from the original reference." - Glenn Barr.
