This artist edition consist the first translation to tapestry of the artist's work based on one of his paintings from 2015. In the spirit of Martinez's free use of a wide array of materials, tapestry becomes another medium for the artist to play with. Vibrant splashes of paint are replaced with colorful woven thread. Translating the artist's uncompromising, expressive and at times aggressive approach to painting to a meticulously handwoven carpet creates a fitting contrast highlighting both the inherent tension and craftsmanship of Eddie Martinez's oeuvre.
