In Peach Sunrise, geometric forms integrate and interrupt a simultaneously intimate and distant narrative. An abstracted mountainscape and radiant sky contrast with reclining figures evocative of artists like Piero della Francesca, Tom Wesselmann, Alex Katz, and contemporary Brian Calvin. Howard plays with form, figure, reality and memory while constructing a scene devoid of set coordinates in time or space, providing his only hint through the work's simple and somewhat suggestive title.
