Last night, Robert Davis opened his second solo show at Luce Gallery (Turin, Italy) titled Anything to Feel Weightless Again. Understanding that language is both arbitrary and adaptive, Davis imbues bold phrases taken from poetry, music, and colloquial speech with dark humor, authenticity, and irony, isolating the text visually into image. In this new gold-leafed edition, the phrase "You Win" proposes a number of possible meanings–the interpretation of which could be either a feeling of triumph or a concession of defeat.
