Tracey Emin has often used the image of a bird in her work - in both her drawing and sculpture - to symbolise not only freedom but also fragility. In this sculpture, a loosely modelled bird with outstretched wings is seen carrying on its back a female nude, perhaps the artist herself being carried away to safety. In 'Take me home', an edition of 15 based on a larger work titled 'You Saved Me' (2014), Emin has created a touching work that is informed by her characteristic emotional candour and pathos.
