Cole Mohr. "Go 'stros". 20" x 13.5". Signed edition of 50. $100. Hailing from Houston, Texas, Cole Mohr gleans inspiration from the Americana prevalent in his hometown. Through its imagery and mark-making, 'Go 'stros' references the process and durational aspect of tattooing, a practice which initially sparked Mohr's drawing style. In this print, Mohr plays with positive and negative space–breaking down the tricolored field into individual dots whose existence create the shape of scattered stars against picture plane. We like Mohr's straightforward approach to pointillism and side glance to Pop Art and Jasper Johns.
