"The original of this piece was a small piece that I did with ink and white gouache on paper. It was made as a part of my comic series ‘Islands’. In the story there’s a world that is entirely seen as wavy and blurred into abstracted line work, this piece is a part of that place. I started working in strictly black and white a couple years ago as a challenge to try something new and see how I could translate a drawing with a limited visual language. Since then, I’ve made comics and a handful of other ink and gouache drawings.
