Mist

Bio

In the 1980’s the graffiti of the RER (Paris’ metro system) was just part of a daily commute for most but it would prove to be the inspiration for a very few. It was 1988 when Mist began writing graffiti himself. Locking into a signature style, his talent for both letters and characters was quickly recognized around the city and soon after, around the world. As if constricted by the limitations of walls, Mist began experimenting with sculpture. In 1998 he created his first three-dimensional character and soon became a pioneer of “designer toys.” Under his “Bonustoys” label, Mist continues to produces limited edition vinyl sculptures, now sold in toy and design stores worldwide. Along side Kaws and Futura, Mist is internationally recognized as one of the most influential and visionary artists in the contemporary art space. Today Mist lives and works in Montpellier where he continues to concentrate on sculpture, painting and being inspired by the graphic code of graffiti.
